Lagardere Sports and Entertainment is a business that understands the power of education. Here we learn some of the diverse programmes they have developed to enhance the skills and expertise of not only their employees but also students and professional sportsmen and women.
Lagardère Sports and Entertainment 's strength derives from its people. Throughout their careers, our employees receive support to help them progress and enhance their skills and expertise.
At Lagardère Sports and Entertainment, we consider that diversity fosters creativity and attracts talent. This is the reason why we develop and encourage diversity by promoting equal opportunities, focusing on three key areas: equality between women and men, disabilities and representation of ethnic and social origins. For example, in France, the newcomers who had recently joined Lagardère Sports and Entertainment took part in a Group annual integration day. It consists of several workshops representing the different branches of the company and the values embraced by the Lagardère Group.
In France, the Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation supports Sciences Po with its tailor-made reconversion program for high-profile athletes. Mathieu Souchet, Human Resources Director France, tell us more about this program: “Since 2007, in partnership with Sciences Po, the Foundation offer a flexible training schedule, unique in France, adapted to the constraints of high-level athletes. The course is divided into two levels: the preparatory certificate and the certificate of professionalisation to prepare for the future. This flexible program allows them to consider their professional life after the end of their sports career more serenely. More than 100 athletes have benefited from this program and 15 have joined a Master's degree at Sciences Po. Among these athletes, 12 represented France during the Olympic or Paralympic Games. In early 2017, Lagardère Sports decided to go even further to support the Foundation's initiatives by setting up a mentoring program between Lagardère Sports experts and the athletes.”
In Germany, Lagardère Sports teams work closely with the Euro Business College (EBC), a private university located in Hamburg. On one hand, EBC promotes us internally and we are part of their career events. On the other hand, we offer great opportunities to the students. Amir Kadora, who currently works at Lagardère Sports as Associate Sales Team Preußen Münster, said: “The ESO-Group with its EBC University Campus Hamburg and the Munich Business School (MBS) have accompanied me on my academic path and set the focus on international as well as practical education. During my study programs, I came across Lagardère Sports, where I wrote my master’s thesis with the strong support of Dr. Nicolas Gaede (SVP Marketing). Later I was promoted from the Junior Associate Hospitality Sales level to the Associate Sales level.”
