Success in the football industry requires more than theoretical knowledge—networking, internships, and hands-on experience are key. The FBA’s Professional Master’s program provides candidates with industry connections, real-world projects, and guaranteed internships with top football organizations. Through events like the World Football Summit, students engage with global stakeholders, while business projects offer exposure to real industry challenges. With 90+ partners and 2,500+ contacts, The FBA equips candidates with the skills and experience needed to thrive in football.
Understanding the intricacies of the dynamic Football Industry through theoretical knowledge is very important. However, having hands-on experience in the field through internships, business projects and networking with industry leaders can help increase your chances of landing your dream job. Football is recognised worldwide and is the number 1 sport in the world but stepping inside the circle can be proven difficult without the right tools and knowledge.
With football being the world’s most popular sport, competition for jobs is fierce. Whether you aspire to work in club operations, sponsorship, player management, or marketing, gaining hands-on experience is key to breaking into the industry.
The football industry thrives on relationships. Who you know, and how you engage with them, can make all the difference in discovering job opportunities and career growth. But networking isn’t just about exchanging business cards; it’s about building meaningful, long-term professional relationships.
Connecting with professionals in the industry can open doors to mentorship, job recommendations, and direct introductions to key decision-makers.
True networking is about creating meaningful relationships and doing so with like-minded individuals. Once you have a strong network, it's time to use it. It is important to be clear about the type of roles you are looking for and what goals you have for your future. It's also time to ask for advice and learn more from those with first-hand knowledge.
From the very beginning FBAs candidates are given the opportunity to attend a networking week. During this week, candidates go to World Football Summit (WFS), a 2-day event full of key stakeholders, providing a unique environment to network. This event offers a wide range of panel discussions and presentations and more recently the opportunity for candidates to have 1 on 1 sessions with industry leaders like Fatma Samoura, Maheta Molango and Mohammad Yunnus.
Year after year, their (WFS) events have become the must-attend meeting point for the global football community and exposing FBA Candidates to these events is crucial for their development as future football business leaders. Building on our previous participation and interactions will open up and amplify many synergies that exist between our organisations, and we are excited to double down on using the power of our shared values and platforms to take the football industry to the next level.

There are other networking opportunities within the program as well and can be an important stepping stone in growing a network. All professors of the program are industry leaders teaching in an online and in person setting. This offers an opportunity to not only meet, but network with professionals from the football industry while learning the current realities of the football business.
During the networking week, candidates are taken on field trips. This offers an exclusive inside look of the behind the scene operations of a club, federation or football organisations to understand the concepts and practices learned during the courses and how they are brought to reality. Each field trip is combined with a tour and insightful presentations from senior management allowing candidates an exclusive look into inner workings of various organisations.
Internships are one of the most valuable ways to gain experience and grow your network. Beyond adding credibility to your CV. Through an internship you can start building your network. It gives you a chance to connect with professionals already working in the industry.
By working directly with a football organisation, you can gain practical knowledge which is invaluable for future employers. It helps develop not only your technical skills but also your soft skills, like communication, teamwork and leadership. An internship allows you to build your portfolio by taking on projects, which look great on your resume and can set you apart from other candidates.
