1. Please introduce who you are, what you do and what your job entails.

My name is Bernadette Menefee and I am Manager Talent Acquisition and Compliance at Intelsat. My responsibilities include ensuring that Intelsat is attracting the right talent to support our enterprise goals.  Whilst doing, I’m also responsible for providing a compliant, efficient and effective system to attract, assess, select and onboard those individuals.

2. What career path have you taken to get to where you are today?

I have been working in the human resources discipline for 12 years.  My prior roles have included specialising in immigration, compliance, employee relations and international assignment/mobility management.  These experiences have provided me with a different perspective than perhaps to those coming from a recruiting background.

3. Could you tell us a bit more about Intelsat- what are some of your key objectives and challenges at the moment?

Intelsat is the leading provider of satellite services worldwide. For more than 45 years, Intelsat has been delivering information and entertainment for many of the world's leading media and network companies, multinational corporations, Internet Service Providers and governmental agencies. Intelsat’s satellite, teleport and fiber infrastructure is unmatched in the industry, setting the standard for transmissions of video, data and voice services.

Our key objectives are to provide services to our customers that meet the challenges of globalization of content and the proliferation of HD, to the expansion of cellular networks and broadband access. Finding the right talent to support these objectives is critical.

4. What has been your career highlight to date?

I cannot really say there's any one specific instance, but, each time I match a qualified, talented, motivated individual to a great career at Intelsat I feel a big sense of satisfaction.
