Can you describe your experience using the platform for your job search and applications?

I discovered the Global Sports platform two years ago, when I was looking for my very first work-study role. It features some of the biggest players in professional sport, whether in football, rugby or tennis. A little corner of paradise for students in Sport Business School. Eager to progress in the field of sports marketing, I applied to around ten offers on the platform.

The operation is quite simple, you just have to add your personal information and documents such as the CV and the cover letter. Everything is well explained, unlike other recruitment sites. The longer the steps, the more I think it can dissuade students.

Sport has always been a big part of my life. I can't see myself working in any other field. It's a passion and it allows you not to see work as a chore.

What motivated you to work at the National Rugby League? How did the NRL stand out as an employer?

Since my childhood, sport has always occupied an important place. I don't see myself working in any other sector. In addition, I discovered the concept of marketing in my Bachelor's degree. I wanted to continue on this path, by combining my passion and the choice of my studies. The league perfectly met this criterion.

Concerning the missions, I thought about what I would be able to bring to the work team, but also what I would be able to learn from professionals. The interview went very well and I felt comfortable, and that's what I still feel today.

You have just started your new job, can you compare your experience so far to your expectations/experiences of working in the sports industry?

As part of my final year of study, I chose to change companies to strengthen and broaden my circle of skills. What mattered to me, initially, was the variety of missions to be carried out and the place that one occupies within a project. A few months before entering professional life, it was important to join the field in which I wish to evolve, sports marketing. I am not considered an employee, but I wanted to be able to participate in enriching projects, with the different services of the league. Being able to learn alongside professionals is an opportunity.

Then, I had an expectation concerning the presence of the tutor. Participative and delegative management allows me to invest myself in the projects, to feel included, but also to work independently once the missions have been transmitted and the objectives set.

This new internship fulfills all the expectations that I could have had on the first day.

What are your missions as Assistant Digital Marketing Project Manager?

I support the marketing team in developing the MyRugby membership offer. It is important to offer activations to the rugby community throughout the year and to focus on key events such as the PRO D2 and TOP 14 Finals. Through this program, we are strengthening the link between French rugby and its fans. I am also involved with several league departments in the redesign of the website and the NFT project.

Since childhood, sports has aways been important to me. I cannot imagine working in another industry.

What advice would you give to people looking for a new opportunity in the sports industry?

If I compare myself to some of my classmates, they have more experience than me in the field of sport. Volunteering in their basketball club, summer job, etc. Any experience is good to take. For example, becoming a volunteer for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Behind that proves your motivation, your curiosity, your involvement. You enrich your CV, you stand out from the others. Standing out is the key in my opinion. You have to dare, get out of your comfort zone, because that's how you broaden your circle of skills. It's not specific to sport. In class we have testimonials from speakers. Some have worked at PSG, others work at the NBA. It's a dream. Even I dream of it. But their speech remains the same: you have to work.

Would you recommend Global Sports to your network?

Yes. On Global Sports, students have the opportunity to discover many internship offers in the professional sports world. This can also help them better understand this industry and know the expectations of these players to join them. In addition, the platform is full of enriching information such as testimonials, very useful in refining students' research.
